Baptism at Celebration Sundays

Getting baptized is one of the best decisions you'll ever make — and we get to celebrate it with you. At Coast City Church, we call our baptism days Celebration Sunday, because that's exactly what it is: a celebration! A moment where we get to gather as a family and cheer on every person making a public declaration that they belong to Jesus. If you've decided to follow Jesus — whether that decision is years old or only days old — we'd love to baptize you.

An Outward Expression of an Inward Change

Baptism is an outward display, to other believers and the world, of your inward decision to follow Jesus.

It doesn't save you. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus alone. But baptism is the first act of obedience for every new follower of Christ — a public way of saying, I belong to Him now. I'm not the same person I was. And I want everyone to know.

We follow Jesus' example in the Bible by choosing to be baptized after putting our faith in Him. Throughout Scripture, baptism follows belief — a tangible "yes" that reflects the spiritual yes already happening in someone's heart.

Who CAN get baptized?

Anyone who has put their faith in Jesus can be baptized. That includes:

  • Brand new believers who recently went All In

  • Longtime Christians who never got baptized (or got baptized as an infant and want to make the decision as a public adult declaration)

  • Kids and students who have made a personal decision to follow Jesus and understand what baptism means

  • Anyone returning to faith who wants to mark a new chapter

If you're not sure whether baptism is your next step, that's a great conversation to have with one of our pastors — and we'd love to have it.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Celebration Sunday is a regular Sunday service with one special addition: baptisms. Here's what to expect:

  • A normal worship service with music, teaching, and community

  • Baptisms happen during or after the service

  • Family and friends are encouraged to come and celebrate with you

  • We provide everything you need (a baptism shirt, towels, somewhere to change)

  • Photos and videos to remember the day
