An Outward Expression of an Inward Change
Baptism is an outward display, to other believers and the world, of your inward decision to follow Jesus.
It doesn't save you. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus alone. But baptism is the first act of obedience for every new follower of Christ — a public way of saying, I belong to Him now. I'm not the same person I was. And I want everyone to know.
We follow Jesus' example in the Bible by choosing to be baptized after putting our faith in Him. Throughout Scripture, baptism follows belief — a tangible "yes" that reflects the spiritual yes already happening in someone's heart.
